Stress-free kid's cuts at new Mell Square store...

If the kids hate getting their hair cut and trips to the hairdressers are always a nightmare, a pioneering new children’s hairdressing service, which has recently opened up on Mell Square, may have the answer.

Snip Snap, located on Drury Lane, promises to change the way that parents and their children view going to the hairdressers. Already a major regional success, with two other stores in Hatton Country World and Leamington Spa, Snip Snap uses a specially developed technique, which combines calming and distraction methods, negotiation skills and sharing activities to ensure that even biggest hairdresser-hating child will eventually enjoy having their tresses trimmed.

All Snip Snap staff are specifically trained to work with kids. The stores are also designed to be as child-friendly as possible with toy sections and baby facilities. The Solihull store even has a buggy park.

Snip Snap founder, Marion Burns explains: “There are a number of reasons why children dislike going to the hairdressers. Some are scared of scissors, others simply do not like to have to sit in one place for too long, while many associate their hair with their head and subsequently think of a hair cut as a head cut.

“Whatever the reason may be, we can safely promise parents that when they come to Snip Snap, no matter how challenging the situation may be, their child will not only leave with a nice new hair cut but will enjoy a fun and exciting experience too.”
